New York City Advocates for Your Clean Energy Future
While the City is leading the way on the clean energy transition through its own programs and policies, we know we cannot achieve climate and energy justice alone. We will need robust support from and alignment with state and federal partners. The Mayor’s Office actively engages in state and federal policy-making to ensure policies are developed in a way that truly supports New York City residents and businesses in the clean energy transition. To provide just a few examples, the Mayor’s Office has provided input on key initiatives like the New York State Climate Action Council’s Scoping Plan, the State Climate Justice Working Group’s definition of Disadvantaged Communities, the New York Public Service Commission‘s decisions on energy affordability, energy efficiency programs, energy cost assistance, electric vehicles, and clean energy technologies like offshore wind, solar, storage, and geothermal.
