Rainproof NYC
Our climate plan includes a section which outlines our approach and vision for how we address flooding the city.
Rainproof NYC sets into motion critical steps to advance the development of those commitments so we can address flooding impacts.
To address increased heavy rainfall in New York City, the Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice (MOCEJ), the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and NYC Housing Recovery Operations (HRO), along with Rebuild by Design and One Architecture & Urbanism, “Rainproof NYC,” is a collaborative initiative that brings together government agencies, non-profits, and an array of stakeholders to further develop innovative policies and programs aimed at addressing the challenges New York City faces as climate change causes increased heavy rain events.
